Ride a Bike

The crisp spring weather makes for the perfect time of year for a bike ride. Find a local trail or tour your neighborhood together. A bike ride is an excellent way to destress from the day and to get a little exercise while you’re at it.

Fly a Kite

Spring is also the best time to visit the park and fly a kite. The gentle wind makes for prime weather to get your kite into the sky. Just be sure to avoid any power lines or trees.

Plan a Picnic

While you’re at it, you might also plan a picnic. Find a beautiful, quiet spot in town and bring your favorite food. You can even plan something as simple as a nice, sunny afternoon in your backyard.

Spring-Themed Crafts

You can also do spring-themed crafts like painting flower pots, cutting out foam window murals or painting with fly swatters. This can be a fun, relaxing way to spend an afternoon, especially if it’s a rainy day.

Take a Stroll

Sometimes it’s nice to just get out and go for a walk. You can talk about how the week has been or any upcoming plans. The mentoring volunteer opportunities in Utah or centered around the individual. A stroll can be a simple way for Bigs and Littles to get to know each other better.

Outdoor Concerts

The warmer weather also brings fun community events. Lookup any local shows, especially things like outdoor plays or concerts that don’t show during the colder months.

School Athletic Events

Many Littles may be participating in sports during this time of year. Sometimes the best activities can be the ones you are already involved in. If you are a Big, take the time to show your support. Watch the big game and then go out for dinner or an ice-cream.

As simple as these activities may sound, they can have a lasting impact on the lives of our participating youth. Ignite potential in our Littles by helping them destress and discover new interests.
