At Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah, our vision is to help all kids reach their full potentials. We do this through various means, from utilizing financial donations to creating a force of volunteer mentors.

How Big Brothers Big Sisters Donations in Utah Change the Future

Economically or socially disadvantaged youth benefit significantly through mentorships. Benefits include lower drop-out rates and higher graduation rates. At Big Brother Big Sisters of Utah, we provide mentoring for at-risk youth through three types of donations from caring members of the community.

Give to Youth Financially

The most obvious way to make donations in Utah is by giving financially. With the CARES Act providing tax exemption up to 300 dollars without itemizing, it’s easier than ever to invest in the future.

Ways to give financially include one-time donations and recurring monthly contributions. We invest those donations into our various programs and need to keep the organization running smoothly to keep helping the community.

Donate Clothing and Items

Donations in Utah of used clothing and household items benefit both youth and the environment by keeping these things out of landfills and funding mentorships. These donations go directly to those in need or go to be resold to fund our programs.

Volunteer Your Time

The most valuable donation is direct involvement in a young person’s life. Studies show at-risk youth gain multiple benefits from your insight and advice.

The National Institutes of Health report significant reductions in depression, behavioral problems and acting out in mentored youth versus un-mentored youth. The American Psychological Association says benefits include better college performance and higher achievement in life.

Create an Impact on the Future

By giving money, clothing or time to Utah youth, you can positively impact the future. Mentoring improves lifelong success. Donations compound into real change over generations as your mentees return to pay your generosity forward. For more information, contact BBBSU today.
