When we at Big Brother Big Sisters of Utah introduce our children and youth to new experiences and share positive values with the help of mentors, they can avoid negative behaviors and focus on gearing towards success in their lives.

Children aged 6 to 18 need a mentor and a support system to grow up into responsible individuals with a wide range of good morals and direction in life.

Additionally, they have improved self-esteem and better attitudes toward school. There are multiple volunteer opportunities in Utah through which youths can grow socially and emotionally. By spending time with an adult outside of their families, they can develop and perfect their communication and interpersonal skills to help them throughout their childhood to adulthood journey. Mentioned below are some of the benefits of our organization.

Maintaining a Clean Environment

Clothing donation plays a vital role in supporting the mentorship organization. Many of the funds raised from reselling donated items go to fund other programs, such as BBBSU volunteer opportunities in Utah.

Donating items can reduce the clutter at home and help the community at the same time.

Converting Clothing Donation To Funds

If the contributed clothes are in excess, we consider reselling items. These clothes can be sold out to some clothing stores, including Savers Thrift Store, in exchange for funds that will be used to run other vital roles within the organization.

Helping Children in the Community

A vital part of our mission is to serve the community, primarily children without a support system. Through the mentorship program, we equip volunteer mentors, or Bigs, to serve and support local children through the mentorship program. These Bigs teach, spend time with, and create activities for their Littles.
