Thanksgiving is a time to give back to the community. One way to do so is to search for volunteer opportunities in Utah. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah is an organization that matches children with mentors. A great way to bond with any child in your life is through making arts and crafts. The following are Thanksgiving craft ideas you can do:

Leaf Sprites

As Autumn comes to an end, so will the sight of multicolored leaves. However, you can create artificial leaves by making leaf sprites from paper in honor of the end of Fall. Leaf sprites are an excellent Thanksgiving craft idea with your Little since they are easy to make and can be used as seasonal decorations. All you need is a pair of scissors, striped pipe cleaners, and printable leaf sheets.

Native American Settlements

In celebration of Native American Heritage Month, you and your Little can learn about Native American Settlements and create an artificial Native American settlement recreation. Native Americans were nomadic people who spent their lives moving around America. They set up settlements that included teepees, animal dwellings, and more. With felt, wooden pegs, and cardboard, you can create an excellent recreation of a Native American settlement. Please note the importance of teaching and recreating settlements with accurate information and sensitivity toward Native American heritage and history.

Autumn Leaf Mason Jars

Making Autumn leaf mason jars is an excellent arts and crafts idea for Thanksgiving time. All you need are artificial paper leaves and glue to cover the mason jars. Ensure the jars have lids, as you will place LED lights in them. Your Little can use them as decorations for their Thanksgiving dinner table.
