Looking for kid-friendly winter activities during kids’ break off of school? The state of Utah is full of several places where kids can go and have fun, even during winter.

Programs through Big Brothers Big Sisters Utah allow youth and their mentors to participate in various activities throughout the year. Volunteer opportunities in Utah are made possible through Big Brothers Big Sisters Utah

Here are Utah’s kid-friendly activities to participate in this winter season:

Visiting Midway Ice Castles

The Ice Castles in Midway, UT open seasonally for visitors to enjoy a unique experience. The Ice Castles include ice mazes, ice slides, tunnels, and more.

Snow Tubing

Taking advantage of the snow in Utah can include participating in snow tubing. During the winter, this can be a great way to utilize kids’ energy. Children will get the exhilarating experience of sliding down gentle slopes and racing down long lanes.

Ice Fishing

Ice fishing is another activity children can participate in this winter. Utah’s Bear lake is one of the places to do this activity as it is usually packed with white fish waiting to be caught. Note, a fishing license may be required.

Play in the Snow and Build a Snowman

Whether making snow angels, building a snowman, or catching snowflakes, snow activities may bring joy to children. Kids exposed to such activities during winter value the importance of playing and having fun together.

Those looking for volunteer opportunities in Utah can turn to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah. With the help of volunteers, our programs strive to ignite the potential of Utah kids by engaging them in activities among other ways of enjoying the season.
