Make Donations in Utah

One of the most important aspects of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah organization is donations. We rely on various types of donations every day, which we put to good use to assist the most vulnerable children. Here is how and why donations in Utah matter:

Mentoring

Our one-on-one mentoring costs approximately $1300 per match annually. This includes the support provided to the mentors, as well as training and development. The donations in Utah most required for this is financial. You can set up a monthly donation to help children in your community on an ongoing basis. Our mentorships are needed to be a minimum of one year to give the child stability and reliability, and monthly donations ensure that these relationships are being established.

Reduce Risky Behaviors

One of the desired outcomes of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah mentoring is to reduce risky behaviors and improve the mental health of vulnerable children. BBBSU has achieved excellent results due to the financial investments received. After one year of mentorship, 84% of BBBSU children said they are less likely to engage in risky behavior.

Improve Social Acceptance

Children from unstable backgrounds often find it extremely difficult to create and sustain meaningful friendships, which negatively affects their social lives and school work. After one year of mentorship, 92% of BBBSU children stated that they experienced improved social acceptance.

Improved Self Control

The above statistics are based on 2019 reports. Furthermore, reliable adult role models in children’s lives encourage positive behavior and give them a sense of security. Looking at other factors, according to a psychology journal published in 2019, having a positive role model improved self-control.

Donations in Utah Make an Impact

As you can see, the donations in Utah affect more than just the administration of BBBSU. They have a direct impact on improving the lives and futures of the BBBSU Littles.
