Looking for Volunteer Opportunities in Utah?

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah (BBBSU) offers men the chance to not only make a difference in a child’s life but to experience the many benefits of volunteerism.

Volunteering to be a Big Brother for BBBSU provides a child a mentor, friend, and confidante. Having someone in their lives that they can count on helps kids gain confidence, do better in school, and avoid risky behavior.

But there is far more to volunteerism than giving. According to Novoresume, volunteering helps improve mental and physical health.

Volunteer opportunities in Utah create the chance to meet and socialize with others, which helps grow supportive associations. BBBSU currently has over 1,000 mentors who expand their personal networks and create personal bonds with like-minded community members. This is especially beneficial to those new to an area or community members seeking to meet others who share interests.

Volunteerism also provides retirees with a sense of happiness and purpose once their contributions to the workforce are complete. According to The AARP, volunteering increases brain function and decreases the risk of depression.

Additionally, becoming a volunteer can help bring purpose to one’s life.

Contributing to the well-being of others can be very satisfying. Watching a child who otherwise may have missed out on positive life experiences grow and prosper is in itself fulfilling.

Right now, BBBSU is seeking male volunteers to help children in need of stability via mentoring. Currently, over 80 children are waiting for a Big Brother or Big Sister in Utah.

By taking advantage of volunteer opportunities in Utah through BBBSU, men can contribute to a child’s future, ensure a more stable community, and enjoy personal growth beyond measure.
