“Where Can I Donate Used Clothes?”

The season to give is at hand, and those in need should make your list. Donations in Utah are now being taken by Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Utah, the volunteer mentorship program responsible for helping youth in need or who are struggling.

The gift of a coat or jacket is a good way to boost your giving. Donations in Utah are always welcome, and the events of this tragic year along with the upcoming holiday season are the best reason to do so.

How To Help Those In Need of Your Unwanted Clothes

Lightly used winter clothing such as jackets or coats is always accepted for donations in Utah. We are always asked, “where can I donate used clothes?”. Currently, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Utah will accept the following winter items: Snowsuits, jackets, coats, and other clothing items that can help keep children and teens warm in the most severe winter months. There are several bins throughout many cities in Utah that will accept lightly used coats and jackets, but there are some guidelines that must be followed so that a volunteer can accept your donation.

Believe it or not, donating used items can be sold, with the proceeds going towards more programs for children and youth. The way that any type of clothing donation works is that you drop off the item to the nearest bin, then they are either sold as consignment or possibly recycled. The money then goes to support continued programs and to create new opportunities for others to volunteer their time.

Local businesses will host donation bins for you to discard old, slightly worn coats and jackets. With the cold weather setting in, such items are bound to sell at a reasonable price, thus boosting financial contributions all over the state. Where there’s a need, there’s an answer, and since most enjoy shopping every now and then, that’s the best way to secure good donations in Utah for a worthy cause.
