Donate Clothing
How Donating Works

Local businesses host our donation bins to help make donating your used clothing items more convenient. Remember larger items cannot be left outside these bins but can be donated at our Attended Donation Centers (see below). We can accept your used item donations 7 days a week! DONATION RECEIPT
Find Nearest Bin
We have placed bins throughout the Salt Lake Valley to make donating easy and convenient.
Out of respect for the property owners that generously donate the bin spaces to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah, we ask for your help in keeping our community clean by not leaving items outside of bins or donation centers. Unfortunately, items left to the elements cannot be used and will be discarded.
Type in your zip code below to find the bin closest to you.

Donation Centers
Donate your used items at a Big Brothers Bigs Sisters of Utah Attended Donation Center. For more information call 801-747-1050.

Curbside Pick-Up
If you can’t make it to a bin or donation center, schedule a free pickup. On your scheduled pick-up day, identify your items with a sheet of paper marked “BBBS”. Place these donations on your curbside, clearly visible from the street by 8:00am. Please call us at 801-747-1050 if you are placing the items somewhere other than the curbside or if you live in a gated community.

Items We Accept
Currently, we are only accepting clothing and small household items. We cannot accept furniture or other large items. When you donate your unwanted clothes and household items, you help support the trust and caring friendship between a positive role model and child in your community. No matter the donation type, all donations help support the mentoring relationships. Additionally, you are saving precious room in landfills and protecting the environment. Below is a link to a full list of the items you CAN and CANNOT donate.

For more than 40 years, we’ve matched Bigs (volunteer mentors) with Littles (kids in the program) to ignite the potential of Utah kids. There are many ways you can support our mission and programs. In addition to volunteers donating their time, our youth and the environment benefit from used item donations and financial donations. All three types of contributions help kids get more out of their education, avoid risky behavior, aspire to be more, gain confidence, and, as a whole, build a safer, cleaner environment for us all.

Clothing Drives
We are currently booking fundraiser drives for the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 school years. Help Big Brothers Big Sisters raise money to support mentoring relationships. By choosing to have a clothing drive at your place of work, you can contribute to our cause. We also partner with youth-serving nonprofits and schools to help those groups raise funds.
Group Service Projects
Eagle Scout (Boy Scout) or Silver Award (Girl Scout) Projects
Corporate Community Project
Youth Sports Team Fundraiser
PTA Fundraiser
How it works:
- Your group members or employees solicit bags of clothing and small
household items for donation. - We schedule a day/week to pick up the donated goods (barrels can be
provided for multi-day drives) - We sell the goods to Savers thrift store and (for youth-serving groups) you get a check in the mail based on the pounds of goods collected.
To get started or setup a clothing drive contact Joe Fangalua via email at [email protected] or via phone by calling 801-743-1666.
