Holiday activities are among the most popular activities for the Bigs and Littles of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah. We’ve collected five of our favorites, including volunteer opportunities for bigs and littles in Utah.

Deliver Holiday Cards To a Nursing Home

Some of the area’s elderly may not receive cards this holiday season. You can make and deliver cards to residents of nearby nursing homes or arrange to drop them off and have a safe, socially distanced visit to elderly residents to share some holiday cheer.

Bake Cookies

Baking cookies is a fun team effort, and if you make them from scratch, you and the mentee can both learn something new! Sugar cookies or old-fashioned chocolate chips are both reasonably easy to make. You can even double the recipe and deliver some fresh cookies to the local fire or police stations as volunteer opportunities in Utah.

Learn About Other Countries Traditions

Find a map of the world, then take turns closing your eyes and placing your finger on it. Look up any holiday traditions for the country you find. You may be surprised at what you learn!

Make a Gratitude Wreath

Create a “gratitude wreath” of everything you’re thankful for this year. Make a wreathe out of green construction paper, then decorate it with cut our red circles, representing holly berries. On each process, write something you’re grateful for.

Play Holiday Trivia

Have you wondered where the notion of Santa Claus comes from? There are many traditions, big and small, that are associated with the holidays. Together, you and your mentee can use resources at the library or online to solve some Holiday trivia!
